meet me

My name is Imane, and I’m just happy to be here.

I came to birthwork by way of following my spiritual path. My teachers taught me how to be a part of something bigger than myself, and that each person has a role to fulfill in their greater life. A word to complete.

In my search for how to be of service to my community, birthwork and I found each other. This is one of the ways I offer love to the communities I belong to. I’m a person who believes in Love being the root of everything good, and the absence of it being the root of everything harmful. I’m a dedicated learner who believes there is always more to learn from those before and around us. I’m a person who believes in the magic of sisterhood amongst women, and can often be found baking, cooking, and laughing loudly with the women around me. I believe in joy, in trying things that seem really hard but feel amazing, in honesty, and dismantling supremacy by any means necessary

My Approach

I believe in every person’s right to choose what’s right for them, and that every person has the right to care; whatever that looks like to them. My intention is to be the support you’re looking for, not to impose what I think you need. Pregnancy, birth and postpartum is the most intimate and vulnerable space a person can enter. I intend to guard that for you, to listen to you, to affirm you and be there to reframe and move through things when they are difficult.

I will be your resource, prenatal companion, the person who knows you can, and the set of hands available when and if you aren’t sure what you need or what to do next.

core values

no judgement

This isn’t about me; it’s about you and the family you’re creating. I’m here to guide you through my learning and experience as you feel like you need it. Where you have questions I will work with you to find the answers.

accessiblity

Prenatal, labor, birth and postpartum support are all essential systems in traditional communities all over the world. I firmly believe that this care belongs to all people regardless of financial status and should not be a luxury.

I practice a sliding scale to charge for services and am open minded to making things work.

Creating tangible systems of accessibility is how we challenge the barriers of capitalism and white supremacy.

Let’s make something work.
